How to enter a Ringtone into your Ericsson  A1018 Mobile...

We have tried to make entry of the ringtones into your Alcatel phone as simple as possible.  These instructions have been written for the A1018s phone,  most models of Ericsson phones are support,  use the 'Home' link above if you have found this site and have an Ericsson phone,  but its not an A1018.

To enter the tones on the A1018.

1.  Locate your ringtone composer

To locate the composer on the A1018 use the menu to select 'Settings', then 'Edit melody'. The current tone should be displayed, press and hold the 'clr' key to clear the display.

2.  Enter the key press sequence

Once you have located the composer on your phone,  you need to enter the key press sequence given to you by the ringtone converter software.  Look for the text similar to that in the image below, highlighted in yellow. (This tone was generated in free trial mode,  so only the first 15 notes are shown).

Now (in the phones composer),  simply type these numbers into your keypad,  the display will show something quite different but don't worry,  as long as you press the keys in the sequence shown by the software (in this example 2, then 2 again, then #,  then 3 etc.)  the tone should go into your phone and play for you.

Where you see (hold) simply hold the key down a little longer until your phone changes the note - you will hear the difference!

3. Save the tone

Finally use the 'yes' button to store the tone,  it will then play,  and join your list of other tones in the normal ring tone selection area so you can select it for your ring tone.

If the tone doesn't sound right,  you have probably missed a key so you may wish to try entering the key sequence again.

That's it - it could not be simpler,  or cheaper to add a new ring tone to your Ericsson phone (as often as you like!)
