- First create the ringtone
The first thing to do is to create the ringtone you want to
send to your phone using the Ringtone Converter.
To do this, simply open the Ringtone Converter
software, select a ringtone, or paste an
RTTTL ringtone into the large entry box on the main screen,
then click the file button on the main screen and select 'Save
As'.
Save the ringtone in Kyocera '.kws' format so you can download
it to your phone.
- Download the ringtone to your phone
Now you need to use the Kyocera Connectivity Tool Kit software that came with your
cable to download the ringtone file to your phone.
If you have version 1 on the Kyocera Connectivity Toolkit software, Kycoera
offer a free upgrade to version 2 here.
(please do not ask us for version 1 of the software as we cannot
supply it - it is copyright Kyocera, your cable should be
supplied with it!).
Assuming you have the current (version 2)
of this software, start it (select Start > Programs >
Kyocera > Kyocera Phone Desktop) and select the com port you
have attached the cable to on your pc. If you are not
sure, just select any com port and if it doesnt work just
try another until it does!
Now, in the Kyocera software,
select 'Edit', then 'Import Ringers'. The software
will open a window, and allow you to choose a ringtone
file, so select the .kws ringtone file you saved earlier with
the Ringtone Converter software.
- Synchronize your ringtone files
Finally, to download the ringtone
file to your phone, select 'Snyc > Ringers with phone
> Overwrite phone'.
Then click next, then finish.
Disconnet your phone from the cable and
turn it on, then in the phones menu select 'Menu >
Settings > Sounds > Ringer Type' and you should find your
new ringtones at the end of the ringers list.
Does it all sound a little complicated?
Dont worry, its not really,
its one of those things that is quite easy if you have the phone
and cable etc, but if you read ahead seems impossible.
Just take it one step at a time and you will have lots of new
ringtones before you know it!
