How to enter a Ringtone into your Motorola Accompli 008 Mobile Phone...

The Accompli built in composer is excellent,  however it is not easy to describe which areas of the screen to tap with your pen.  We are currently working on tap in instructions,  but in the meantime if you have Infra red on your computer you can add ringtones really easily!  You can also send ringtones to your phone using SMS.

The Accompli 008 supports the Motorola binary ringtone format,  and specifically ringtones in .vrt files.  This makes life very easy!

To add a new ringtone,  simply select the ringtone you want in the ringtone converter,  and then go to the file menu and select 'Save current ringtone to file',  followed by the Motorola Binary option.

Save the ringtone to a file,  then just transfer this file to your phone.  Your phone should accept the ringtone by Infra Red transmission and take you straight into the composer where you can play the new tone.

If you want to send the ringtone by sms to your phone.  To do this simply open the saved file using notepad and copy the text string in the file.  Send this text string to your phone (or to a v50 or v100) and the phone will read the text message and automatically load it as a ringtone.

If you send the tone by sms to a different Motorola handset you may need to adjust the tempo or timebeat on the receiving phone as the tempo is set correctly for the Accompli and other Motorola handsets play ringtones slower, so you will probably want to speed them up if they are sent to a v50 etc.

If you have any problems,  take a look at our support forum for the latest advice and updates.
