How to enter a Ringtone into Motorola T191 and C300 Cell Phones...

We have tried to make entry of the ring tones into the Motorola T191 and C300 mobile phones as simple as possible.

The original T191 is a neat phone,  compact and user friendly but unfortunately often overlooked.  Its replacement,  the C300 is slightly bigger,  and changes the green screen for a vivid blue (the brightest blue we have seen!).

To enter the tones into your handset.

1.  First,  locate your ring tone composer

For the C300: To add this ringtone to your phone press the menu button and select the 'Media Library' option. Scroll down and select 'Melody Library', then choose 'new' to open the melody editor.

For the T191: To add this ringtone to your phone press the menu button and select the 'Audio Setting' option. Scroll down and select 'Edit Melody', then choose a position to store this new ring tone.

Both phones: You should then be shown a musical score, if there are any musical notes in it press and hold the top left menu button the clear them ready for your new ringtone.

2.  Enter the key press sequence

Once you have located the composer on your phone,  you need to enter the key press sequence given to you by the ring tone converter software.

Now (in the phones melody composer),  simply type these numbers into your keypad.

Numbers in brackets indicate the number of times you need to press the preceding key. As you press the key again and again musical notes will appear, then move down the screen. For example 3(4x) means press the '3' key four times, or 3(5x) means press the '3' key five times.

Where you see 'v' press the middle scroll button down once, this will move you onto the next note.

3. Save the tone

Finally press the top right menu button to play the ringtone and store it on your phone if you like it!

After you have stored the tone you can alter the speed it plays at using the 'Timebeat' option on your phone,  this is in the same menu as the play option on both the T191 and C300 hansets.

If the tone doesn't sound right,  you have probably missed a key so you may wish to try entering the key sequence again.

That's it - it could not be simpler,  or cheaper to add a new ring tone to your Motorola C300 or T191 phone (as often as you like!)
