How to enter a Ringtone into your Motorola v60i / v66i cellular phone...

The v60i (and v66i) is the second generation of v60 handset from Motorola.

In addition to java games,  and a very nice,  quality feel to the handset,  Motorola have improved the ringtone composer,  allowing you enter 'full speed' ring tones into the v60i.

If you have the original v60c, v60g or v60t,  click here for instructions for that handset (although the key sequences look similar they are very different!).

Entering ringtones in the v60i

1.  Locate your ringtone composer

To enter this code into your V60i / V60t phone, press the menu button and using the arrow keys scroll down and select 'Ring Styles'.

A new menu will appear, scroll down and select 'My Tones', then scroll down and select '[New Tone]'.

Finally, select 'Change' to enter the note editor.

2.  Enter the key press sequence

Once you have located the composer,  you need to enter the key press sequence given to you by the ringtone converter software.

Now (in the phones composer),  simply type these numbers into your keypad.  The display will show something different to the keys you are pressing,  but don't worry,  as long as you press the keys in the sequence shown by the software (in this example 0, then 0, then 3,  then 3 etc.)  the tone will go into your phone and play correctly.

3. Save the tone

Finally,  use the save option to store the tone for use.  You will need to enter a name for the tone so you can recognize it later in your phone ring tone list.  Once you have saved it you can play it!

If the tone doesn't sound right,  you have probably missed a key so you may wish to try entering the key sequence again,  press and hold the 'c' key to clear the current notes.

That's it - it could not be simpler,  or cheaper to add a new ring tone to your Motorola v60i cell phone.
