How
to enter a Ringtone into your Siemens S40 Mobile...
We have tried to make entry of
the ringtones into your Siemens mobile phone as simple as
possible. These instructions have been written for the C35
phone, Click on the 'Download' link above, and scroll
down to the base of the page for other phones (eg Other
makes, or the Siemens S40).
To enter the tones on the S40.
1. Locate your ringtone
composer
To enter this tone into your
Siemens S40, locate the composer menu by pressing 'Menu' then
'Tones Setup', then 'Composer'. You can store up to 20 ring tones
on this phone.
Select 'Create Melody' to start entering a new tone.
2. Enter the key press
sequence
Once you have located the
composer on your phone, you need to enter the key press
sequence given to you by the ringtone converter software.
Look for the text similar to that in the image below, highlighted
in yellow. (This tone was generated in free trial mode, so
only the first 15 notes are shown).

Now (in the phones
composer), simply type these numbers into your keypad,
the display will show something quite different but don't
worry, as long as you press the keys in the sequence shown
by the software (in this example 2, then 9 again, then 2 again
etc the tone should go into your phone and play for you.
Where you see ^ press the special
side key on your handset up.
Where you see v press the special side key on your handset down.
Where you see numbers in brackets e.g. (v) simply hold down the
side key for a second, in this example (v) would mean press the
special side key down, and hold it down for a second.
3. Save the tone
When you have finished, press the
'8' button to play back your tone, then the 'Option' button to
save this tone to your phone.
You can also use the 'Option'
button to change the play back speed if you prefer the tone to be
played faster or slower
If the tone doesn't sound
right, you have probably missed a key so you may wish to try
entering the key sequence again.
That's it - it could not be
simpler, or cheaper to add a new ring tone to your Siemens
phone (as often as you like!)
